How To Get From Brisbane Airport To The CBD

Option 1: Airtrain Option 2: Walk / Translink 590 Bus Option 3: Shuttle Bus Option 4: Taxi / Rideshare

Option 1: Airtrain

  • Travel time: 20 minutes
  • Direct, but a little costly, the Airtrain runs every 15 minutes connecting the separate Domestic Airport and International Airport Stations. Once you arrive in the heart of Brisbane City disembark at either Central Station or Roma Street Station. Roma St is the larger intermodal hub with additional bus and rail connections.
  • Consider purchasing the go Card, Brisbane and Queensland’s integrated fare card.
  • Fare for Airtrain is $18.96 AUD (online) and $22.30 AUD (at the station).

Option 2: Walk / Translink 590 Bus

  • Travel time: 2 hours
  • Unfortunately, there are no budget friendly options to get from either the Domestic or International Terminals. You can, however, catch route 590 from the Skygate shopping centre. This requires walking 1 hour along industrial roads from the International Terminal (further for Domestic).

Option 3: Shuttle Bus

  • Con-x-ion offers door-to-door shuttle service. Expect to pay at least $15 AUD for a ride.

Option 4: Taxi / Rideshare

  • Travel time: 30 minutes
  • Undoubtedly, the most expensive option from our list but the most private. In addition to taxis, Uber and DiDi offer private rideshare services from the airport. Expect to pay about $45-60 AUD for a ride.
