How To Get From Edmonton Airport To Downtown

Option 1: Shuttle Bus

  • Skyshuttle Service is a private, regularly scheduled shuttle service from YEG to downtown and various destinations (including the University of Alberta) along the way. No advance purchase is necessary but booking online is advisable to avoid waiting.

Option 2: Taxi / Rideshare

  • Travel time: 30 minutes
  • Undoubtedly, the most expensive option from our list but the most private. In addition to taxis, Uber & Lyft offer private rideshare services from the airport. Travel time is approximately 35 minutes depending on traffic. Expect to pay about $60 for a ride.

Edmonton Transit Bus 747

  • Travel time: 1 hour
  • Edmonton Transit offers bus route 747 as the most direct(ish) option to travel from YEG to downtown Edmonton. Running at 30 – 60 minute intervals the 747 does not go to downtown Edmonton – but rather to Century Park Station and Transit Centre to connect with Edmonton LRT’s Capital Line. The Capital Line continues to downtown Edmonton with multiple convenient stops to complete your journey. Unfortunately the 747 is not a direct, nonstop ride from YEG to Edmonton.
