How To Get From Hollywood Burbank Airport To Downtown

Option 1: Metro 222 Bus / Metro B Line Train

  • Travel time: 1 hour
  • For those on a budget, consider taking Metro Line 222 Bus and the LA Metro into DTLA. Take the elevated moving walkway from the terminal to the Regional Intermodal Transportation Center (buses are at ground level). Ride the 222 bus to Universal City/Studio City Station and catch the B Line (Red). Get off at LA’s intermodal hub for the Metro, commuter and intercity trains-Union Station.
  • Consider purchasing Transit Access Pass, the Greater LA Area’s integrated fare card to the city.

Fastest: Metrolink Antelope Valley Line / Ventura County Line Train

  • Travel time: 40 minutes
  • BUR Airport is uniquely situated at the convergence of two Metrolink regional rail lines. Fortunately Burbank Airport offers free, on demand shuttle service to each train station. There isn’t much difference except for price (and you can walk to the South Station). Be sure to check the Metrolink schedule after you land to confirm which route suits you better. Note that shuttles depart from different sections of the airport and require calling different phone numbers. 
  • For the shuttle to Burbank Airport – North Station (Antelope Valley Line) head to the Valet Parking area.
  • For the shuttle to Burbank Airport – South Station (Antelope Valley Line) walk 5 minutes south of the terminal to the train station.
  • Ride either Metrolink train to LA’s intermodal hub for the Metro, commuter and intercity trains –Union Station.

After landing, head to Burbank Airport – South Station to ride Amtrak into Los AngelesUnion Station.

  • Undoubtedly, the most expensive option from our list but the most private. In addition to taxis, Opoli, Wingz, Uber and Lyft offer private rideshare services from the airport. Travel time is approximately 30 minutes. Expect to pay at least $30-50 for a ride. Be aware of surge pricing and heavy traffic heading from Burbank into downtown Los Angeles.
