Option 1: Metrorail
- Travel time: 30 minutes
- Miami’s Metrorail (metro system) offers direct service from the airport. Starting with the MIA Mover (located on the 3rd level between the Dolphin and Flamingo garage) ride to Miami Intermodal Center. This massive transportation hub connects rapid transit and commuter rail services in the Miami metropolitan area. To mix in some confusion – the Metrorail station is signed as Miami International Airport a bit as a misnomer as the station is not within the airport complex. Board the Metrorail’s Orange Line to Government Center Station – the main intermodal complex for downtown Miami. From here, connect with one of the many Loop Lines to reach your final destination within downtown Miami.
- Fare is approximately $2.50.
Option 2: Miami-Dade Transit Metrobus
- Travel time: 40 minutes
- For those heading to the beach consider Metrobus 150 (Miami Beach Airport Express). This express service skips downtown Miami and heads directly to Miami Beach, stopping frequently between Mid Beach and South Beach. Prefect if you want to head from Miami Airport to Miami Beach non-stop
- Routes 7, 37, 57, and 338 offer local bus service from Miami Airport (via Miami Intermodal Center) to downtown Miami.
- Fare is approximately $2.25.
Option 3: Shuttle Bus
- Some hotel shuttle services from the airport to hotels in downtown Miami and along Miami Beach. All are located at the Arrivals (Level 1) Area within defined zones. Learn more here.
